I couldn't find an explanation about the fact the statues (except for one site called 'the seven moai'- yesterday's post) were turned to the center of the the island. These megaliths stimulate imagination to the point some writers could see here the intervention of an extra-terrestrial intelligence...
On a more pragmatic aspect, I had to give up posting some images because the color profile was not respected by the 'save for web' action in PS: the colors look dull and flat (it's also the case for the present post). If I just reduce the size, the image looses in sharpness. If anybody has an idea...
