When I was a child, I used to read a magazine called 'Tout l'Univers' ('The Whole Universe'?- there is, most probably, an english equivalent, but I don't know its title), a sort of illustrated encyclopedia for kids and teenagers. I was fascinated by the illustrations, particularly those about the strangest -at least for me- countries, like Easter Island, Papua New Guinea. Most of the time these illustrations were drawings, not photographs. But when it was a photo, the colors looked fake or faded, or exagerately saturated, sometimes like in a technicolor movie... That's the atmosphere I'm trying to re-create here.
